# Bred 4 the Wild

 

The Bearded Vulture Breeding Programme is a collaborative conservation effort to collect the seconds eggs from the high mountain nests of these critically endangered birds. Hatched and raised in captivity, the progeny of this captive group will then be released to supplement the dwindling wild population.

Situated on 6 hectares of scenic bushveld, within Tala Collection Game Reserve, with easy access from both Durban and Pietermaritzburg, the African Raptor Centre is safe-haven to a wide selection of indigenous raptors from southern Africa. We invite you to visit our tranquil bird park and experience South Africa’s magnificent aerial predators firsthand.

 

Raptor Rescue

 

Raptor Rescue is a specialist rehabilitation unit treating orphaned, sick and injured birds of prey. From rescue to release the facilities are designed for the specific needs of aerial predators. Due to the threatened status of many raptor species, the successful treatment of conflict casualties can have a positive impact on wild populations.
